Things to Know About Pre-Wedding Aesthetics

What Are Pre-Wedding Cosmetic Procedures?

Marriage, which has a very special place in people’s lives since it is intended to establish a new home and become a family, officially begins with the marriage contract and wedding ceremony. Prospective brides and grooms want to look their best in the photographs and video recordings that will be taken during this happy ceremony, which they will keep for the rest of their lives and pass on to their children.

Not only during the wedding ceremony, but also after the wedding, couples want to start their new lives with a more perfect appearance by having plastic surgery to correct the parts they do not like on their faces and bodies. Cosmetic plastic surgery operations and non-surgical aesthetic procedures that can be performed 6 to 12 months before the wedding are simply called “pre-wedding cosmetic procedures”.

Under the heading of pre-wedding cosmetic procedures, there are some procedures intended for various parts of the body including the face, trunk and breast in particular.

Which Aesthetic Procedures Are Performed Within The Scope Of Pre-Wedding Cosmetic Procedures?

Reaching or getting down to the ideal weight and body sizes

Reaching or getting down to the ideal weight months before the wedding ceremony is critical in terms of sewing a groom’s suit or wedding gown based on this weight; so  weight arrangements should not be postponed until the last few weeks. First of all, the body weight should be brought to where it should be through exercises and a conscious diet for this purpose.

Plastic surgery is not an appropriate option for weight loss. Contour disorders caused by localized fat accumulation in certain parts of the body such as the belly, hips, and inner sides of the knees, as well as related lower and upper body sizes, may be observed in some people with a normal BMI (body mass index). Such regional fat deposits are eliminated performing the “liposuction” (surgical fat removal). Considering the necessity to wear a corset and the recovery time after liposuction, it is helpful to have this procedure at least two months before the wedding date.

Hair transplant

Hair transplant is one of the most popular pre-wedding cosmetic procedures for men preferred by men. Considering that it takes time for the transplanted hair to fall out and for the hair to grow, such a procedure should be performed at least 6 or preferably 12 months before the wedding date.

Facial aesthetics

A variety of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures are performed to make the face look more aesthetic, younger and more dynamic.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is the most popular pre-wedding cosmetic procedure among the procedures intended for the facial region. After this procedure that can be performed from 18 years of age, it takes about one year for the edema to subside and the nose to gain its final shape.

Otoplasty (Prominent Ear Correction — Pinnaplasty)

Prospective brides with prominent ear problems, who consider a bun-shaped hairstyle, prefer having otoplasty colloquially known as prominent ear correction. It is a popular pre-wedding cosmetic procedure for men as well. It should be performed at least 2 to 3 months before the wedding date.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Plastic Surgery)

Bags, particularly on the lower eyelids, can be seen from a young age and can make the face look tired and old. This problem is often accompanied by collapses in the area just below the lower eyelid. These problems are solved permanently by performing the lower blepharoplasty and/or fat injection procedures. Such procedures should be performed at least 2 months before the wedding date.

Mini face lift

People over 30 years of age may have sagging skin on their cheeks due to a variety of factors, and this problem can be solved with a mini facelift operation. It would be useful to have such an operation about 6 months before the wedding date to ensure that the results look completely natural.

Mini face liftFat injection

Injection of fat tissue taken from people’s own bodies into many points of the face such as the cheekbones, forehead, temple areas, chin tip, jaw lines or the nasal ridge is a practice that is commonly performed alone or in conjunction with other pre-wedding cosmetic procedures. It takes at least 1-2 months for the surgical swelling to subside, for some of the injected fat tissue to melt, and for the operation area to take its final shape.

Ready-made filler injection

Eliminating deep grooves and lines in the facial area by typically applying ready-made/temporary hyaluronic acid fillers gives the face a younger and more dynamic appearance. When applied to the cheekbone area, under-eye area, chin, and jaw lines, in particular, fillers significantly improve the aesthetic appearance and beauty of the face. With ready-made filler injection, which is one of the most preferred pre-wedding cosmetic procedures, it is possible to get extremely satisfactory results in a short time.

Lip Aesthetics

In general, ready-made/temporary filler injection is commonly preferred to accentuate the lip contour or to make the lips look fuller. It would be appropriate to have the procedure performed at least 1 month before the wedding date, in order to allow time for the swelling and bruising in the injection areas to subside and for the real result to emerge.

Skin rejuvenation procedures

Many procedures such as fractional laser, radiofrequency, chemical peeling, PRP, salmon DNA, etc. are performed to make the facial skin look brighter, smoother, and healthier, free of sun damages. It takes at least 1 month after such procedures for the edema to subside and the skin to recover.

Breast Aesthetics

Breast plastic surgery is one of the most common pre-wedding cosmetic procedures performed on both men and women before wedding. Different breast plastic procedures are performed based on the nature of the breast problem.

Treatment of Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia (large breasts in men) may cause serious aesthetic concerns and can be treated with liposuction or surgical excision procedures. Since it will be necessary to wear a corset for 3-4 weeks after the operation, gynecomastia surgery should be scheduled on a day at least 2 months before the wedding date.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation surgery with silicone implants is one of the pre-wedding cosmetic procedures. It is a surgical procedure commonly preferred before marriage by women who have no or very small breasts. It takes an average of three months for the operation area to look natural.

Breast Reduction

In breast reduction surgery, which is performed to reduce and lift excessively large and sagging breasts, it is possible to preserve the milk ducts. Breast reduction surgery that provides highly satisfactory results in terms of both aesthetic appearance and health should be performed at least three months before the wedding date.

Breast lift surgery

Sagging breasts with normal volume can be given a more aesthetic appearance with breast lift surgery.

Body contouring

Skin sagging, local fat accumulations or volume loss problems in body parts such as abdomen, waist, back, buttocks and hips can be solved certain plastic surgery procedures.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure performed on people who have sagging abdominal skin due to rapid weight gain and loss at a young age in particular. With this procedure, the abdominal muscles are also tightened, resulting in a flatter abdomen.

Mini Tummy Tuck

In some cases, excess skin may not exist in the entire abdomen, but only in the part below the navel, and can be removed by mini tummy tuck. Excess fat deposits in the waist and upper abdomen are eliminated with liposuction in the same operation, in order to achieve more proportional and aesthetic body contours.

Butt augmentation surgery

Butt augmentation (also known as buttock augmentation) can be performed with fat injection or using silicone implants.

Pubic Lift (Monplasty) and Arm Lift

Especially sagging problems that occur in the legs and arms as a result of excessive weight gain and loss are eliminated with the pubic lift and arm lift procedures. It takes an average of 1 year for the surgical scars in these areas to fade to skin color.

How Long Before The Wedding Date Should The Pre-Wedding Cosmetic Procedures Be Performed?

After surgical or non-surgical pre-wedding cosmetic procedures, a certain period of time is needed for any reactions such as edema, swelling, and stiffness in the application area to disappear, scars to look natural, and the final appearance to appear. In some cases, complications may develop after these procedures, and the elimination of the complication may further prolong this recovery process. Therefore, aesthetic procedures that will be performed before an important event such as a wedding should not be postponed to the last moment.

Surgical procedures such as hair transplant, rhinoplasty, pubic lift and arm lift should be scheduled on a day 6 to 12 months before the wedding date. Procedures such as mini face lift and abdominoplasty should be performed 3 to 6 months before the wedding date, while procedures such as mammoplasty, blepharoplasty, fat injection, otoplasty should be performed 2 to 3 months before. I think it would be appropriate to allow at least one month between non-surgical applications such as skin care or ready-made filler injections and the wedding date.
